The WildPig Story

WILDPIG COMICS was the brainchild of Randy "THE MAC"  and Christopher "QUE" . It was an enterprise conceived by two fans dedicated to a radical principle: clean, affordable, friendly, quality service for an abused and exploited fandom. WILDPIG COMICS was utterly obliterated by a flash flood caused by Hurricane Floyd on September 17th, 1999. (see video from the flood cleanup here)

WILDPIG COMICS II intends to carry on the legacy of its predecessor, and then some. As the sole proprietor, I, Chris (The Mac remains a founder and lovegod in spirit), having been dragged through all the levels of hell and back in order to rebuild this store, am dedicating its existence to the furthering of several key principles:

WILDPIG COMICS II will NEVER promote or tolerate the following:

• cutthroat prices
• dishonest grading of back issues
• passing off socially dysfunctional, mutated half-humans as courteous, helpful employees and proprietor
• human body odor
• exposed, festering ass crack
• Pokemon, and every other witless trend that removes more comics from your local shop
• dirt, disorganization, and clutter
• crappy new book reservation systems that give you a free bag and board if you're lucky
• having to endure loud, obnoxious, role-playing fuckwits while shopping (sometimes only an expletive can tell it like it is)
• Muzac
• Self important oafs ranting about who makes a better Green Lantern, which Star Trek show is better, and other such weighty philosophical topics that should never take precedence over thinking about how one can find a girlfriend and a life.

WILDPIG COMICS II will ALWAYS promote:

• The best new book reservation system, both in store and on the Net, featuring unbeatable discounts and incentives on EVERYTHING in the store
  
• The best selection of back issues, at the most affordable prices. While most comic book stores are gradually jettisoning their backstock, we are aggressively building ours. Indeed, our back issue inventory is the ultimate Pride of Pig. Our selection of high grade Marvel Silver/Bronze Age, at reasonable prices, is the best in NJ, hands down.
  
• A huge selection of graphic novels and trade paperbacks
  
• Reliable order service for specialty items available in the PREVIEWS catalogue (statues, t-shirts, toys, anime, etc.)
  
• An enthusiastic, friendly proprietor and staff always happy to give recommendations on the best reads out there (check out our recommended reading category)
  
• A store ambience anchored in humor, tunes, flicks, and better TV programming.

This is a REAL comic book store, for readers and collectors. Having been both most of my life, and having been subjected to too many true life versions of the Simpsons comic book guy, I've always dreamed of creating a store that is fun and fair, while balanced with a real business sense that promises courteous, reliable, efficient customer service.

The first go-round ended up at the bottom of the Raritan River, but we're not setting up shop in a flood zone this time, so I have high hopes. So stop by if you're in the neighborhood (Jersey's not as bad as the world thinks; don't fall prey to propaganda!), or visit our website for a few laughs. You'll save money and be entertained, I'll make a good living doing what I love, we'll all have fun, and maybe put one or two of the thugs dominating this industry out of business.
